to make them geometrically interoperable with datasets of a higher absolute positional accuracy. To date most PAI programs were implemented as coordinated programs. These programs usually focused on the improvement of a particular dataset and were focused on the individual requirements for geometric interoperability of this dataset with those of a higher positional accuracy. In the future the development of a more generic process to improve the accuracy of geospatial datasets would be beneficial. Particularly the implementation of PAI as a web service, performed on the fly, as the data are being prepared or loaded into a client application, will be a powerful tool in order to make datasets geometrically interoperable.
